Mandatory tags for presentation creation and organization

Setting tags mandatory for workspaces; What does it mean, why it is good and how does it work.

Want your whole team to use tags?

You can choose an option in the general workspace settings that makes using tags a default requirement in presentations.

When you activate this setting, every new presentation is required to include at least one tag.

Why you should set tag usage as mandatory:

  • By mandating tag usage, you ensure that all content is clearly labeled and easily discoverable.
  • You enhance collaboration within your team and ensure everyone understands how presentations should be organized.
  • In Seidat, tags must be used because the platform doesn't use folders for presentation organization

If you're not sure what tags are, read more about it here.

How it all works:

  • Creating New Presentations: If you try to create a new presentation without adding a tag while the "Mandatory Tags" setting is active, you will get a notification on the "tags" section. You can proceed with creating the presentation only after selecting a tag.

  • Handling Existing Presentations: When the "Mandatory Tags" setting is enabled, all previously created presentations without tags will remain unchanged.
  • Adding and Removing Tags: Once you add a tag to a presentation that did not have any, you cannot remove it. Your only option is to add another tag and then delete the original one.

  • Replacing the Last Tag: If your workspace has a tag you don't need anymore and you want to delete it, you can do so as usual, unless the tag is the last one in any presentation. You need to select a replacement tag before you can delete it. NO PRESENTATIONS CAN BE LEFT TAGLESS.
