Videos on slide and media bank

How to add videos to the media bank and on the slides

Enrich your slide content with videos! Videos can be added to the slide from the media bank and by embedding them from online streaming services. This article tells you how to upload videos to the media bank; if you want to embed videos from streaming services (such as YouTube), read this article.

Uploading videos to the media bank and video restrictions

Upload videos to the media bank by opening the media bank from the dashboard or the slide editor and clicking "upload." The maximum file size for videos is 5 GB. Supported video formats are mp4, .mov, and .webm.

Video on mute, autoplay, and loop

You can set the video to be muted, on autoplay, and loop. You can also hide the video controls (play/pause button). Once you have the video on the slide, you will find the tools above the slide (image below). The selected settings will be in effect for everyone viewing the slide.

For autoplay: note! If you have the video on autoplay and the video is not muted, it will play the video as normal unless the viewer refreshes the page. After refreshing the page, the autoplay usually does not work because some browsers enforce a rule that videos will not autoplay on refresh if the video is not muted. This can be changed from browser settings (some browsers will change the settings automatically if these features are used frequently). Changing the settings will only affect how the autoplay works for you, not for other viewers. If the video is muted, the autoplay will work like usual even after refreshing the page.

Videos as background

Currently, you can't add video as a background on a slide. We are working on the feature! You can still use videos as background if you stretch the video to cover the whole content area. We suggest that you also then add a background color that matches the video background color.

Can't get it to work?

Videos in the media bank are supported only for Plus and Pro license packages. If you have the Core package or older subscription model (Team XXS-L), please get in touch with us through our chat or directly with your Customer Success manager to upgrade the license.
