Setting up Google Analytics in Seidat

Why connect Google Analytics to Seidat?

  • See what slides your viewers have visited and for how long
  • Determine how your content is performing by analyzing viewers' behavior
  • Free and easy to set up
  • Create custom reports or integrate with 3rd-party services like Leadfeeder (more at the bottom)

Don't have a Google Analytics account?

  1. Sign up for Google Analytics for free at google.com/analytics
  2. Choose website tracking at the top (selected by default)
  3. In the "Website URL" section choose "https://" protocol and type in "app.seidat.com"
  4. Make sure to set up other settings (time zone etc.)
  5. Click "Get Tracking ID"

This will create a new Google Analytics account with a new property.

Already have an account?

Unless you are an advanced user, we recommend creating a separate property to make tracking your presentations easier.

Refer to the following guide for help: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1042508

  1. Choose website tracking at the top (selected by default)
  2. In the "Website URL" section choose "https://" protocol and type in "app.seidat.com"
  3. Make sure to set up other settings (time zone etc.)
  4. Click "Get Tracking ID"

Adding your Google Analytics tracking ID to Seidat

To start collecting analytics data you will need to provide your tracking ID on the Team Settings page.

The tracking ID consists of "UA" followed by several digits, for example: UA-000000-01.

Can't find your tracking ID?

Follow the "Find your Google Analytics ID" section of the following article: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1008080

To ensure everything is working correctly you can open any of your presentations in the browser (turn off any ad blocker extensions). Open another tab and navigate to the Analytics dashboard. Choose "Real-Time" on the left. You should now be seeing at least one active user there.

Read more about Real-Time here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1638635

Notes

  • Analytics data is only collected on presentation URLs (including Shared and Live presentations). Other pages in the app are left out.
  • Any use of ad blockers will most likely prevent analytics data collection
  • Only slide views longer than 1s are recorded
  • No personally identifiable information about the viewers is collected (e.g. emails, personal names...)

Leadfeeder

Leadfeeder is a useful tool for salespeople which can show companies that viewed your presentations, where they came from and what they do.

It is connected directly to Google Analytics and requires no additional settings in your Seidat team.
